ସ୍ଥାନ ଓ ସମୟ / Place and time
ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନର ଓଡ଼ିଶା। ଏକ ଛାଇଆ ଅଗଣା ଓ ବାରଣ୍ଡା; ଗାଁ ବା ଜିଲ୍ଲା ଧାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ହୋଇନାହିଁ।
Present-day Odisha. A shaded courtyard and veranda; no village or district has been fixed.

ଭାବର ପରିବର୍ତ୍ତନ / The performance turn
ଧାରରେ ପରୀକ୍ଷା → ପାଣିରେ ଆରାମ → ପର ଝାଡ଼ି ନିଜ କାମରେ ଫେରିବା।
Testing the rim → enjoying the water → shaking out and going about its own business.

ପୋଷାକ ଓ ଚଳନ / Clothing and movement
ନୀଳୁର ଛୋଟ ଲାଲ ସୂତା ସାର୍ଟ, ତା’ ନିଜ ବାମ ପଟେ ନୀଳ ପକେଟ୍ ଓ କ୍ରିମ୍ ରଙ୍ଗର ଛୋଟ ପ୍ୟାଣ୍ଟ। ଚଇତିର ନୀଳ ଢିଲା ଟ୍ୟୁନିକ୍‌ର ବେକରେ ସରୁ ସୁନେଲି ଧାର ଓ ମାଟିଆ ହଳଦିଆ ପ୍ୟାଣ୍ଟ। ବସିବା ଓ ଉଠିବା ସହ ଅଣ୍ଟା ଓ ଆଣ୍ଠୁର କୁଞ୍ଚ ବଦଳିବ।
Nilu wears a short red cotton shirt with a blue pocket on his anatomical left and cream cropped trousers. Chaiti wears a loose blue tunic with a narrow gold neckline and muted ochre trousers. Folds at the waist and knees respond to sitting and rising.

ପ୍ରତି ଦୃଶ୍ୟରେ ମେଳ / Continuity between shots
ତଳେ ରଖା ଚଉଡ଼ା ଅଗଭୀର ପାତ୍ର; ପାଣିର ଗଭୀରତା ଓ ପାତ୍ରର ଆକାର ମେଳିବ। ନୀଳୁ ଦୂରରେ ତଳେ ବସିଛି। ଚଷମାରେ ଗୋଟିଏ ଛୋଟ ଠୋପା, ବଡ଼ ହାସ୍ୟକର ଜଳବିସ୍ଫୋରଣ ନୁହେଁ।
A wide shallow dish at ground level; keep its depth and scale consistent. Nilu sits low at a respectful distance. One small drop on the glasses, not an exaggerated burst of water.

ଦୃଶ୍ୟ 1 · 0–12 ସେକେଣ୍ଡ / Scene 1 · 0–12 seconds
ପକ୍ଷୀ ପାତ୍ର ଧାରରେ ବସି ପାଣିକୁ ଚାହେଁ। ନୀଳୁ ଓ ଚଇତି ଦୂରରେ ବସି ଦେଖନ୍ତି।
The bird perches at the dish edge and looks into the water. Nilu and Chaiti watch from a little distance.
ଧ୍ୱନି / Sound: ଅଗଣାର ପବନ, ଏକ ଚିଁ। / Courtyard breeze and one chirp.

ଦୃଶ୍ୟ 2 · 12–24 ସେକେଣ୍ଡ / Scene 2 · 12–24 seconds
ପକ୍ଷୀ ଏକ ପାଦ ପାଣିରେ ରଖେ, ପୁଣି ଉଠାଏ। ମୁଣ୍ଡ ଢଳାଇ ଅନ୍ୟ ପାଦ ବଢ଼ାଏ। ପିଲାମାନେ ସ୍ଥିର ରହନ୍ତି।
The bird dips one foot, lifts it, tilts its head and tries the other. The children stay still.
ଧ୍ୱନି / Sound: ହାଲୁକା ଟୁପ୍ ଓ ବିରାମ। / A tiny plip and a pause.
ଚଇତି: ଏବେ ପଶିବ କି?
Chaiti: Is it going in now?

ଦୃଶ୍ୟ 3 · 24–38 ସେକେଣ୍ଡ / Scene 3 · 24–38 seconds
ପକ୍ଷୀ ଅଗଭୀର ପାଣିରେ ବସି ଥରେ ପକ୍ଷ ଝାଡ଼େ। ଏକ ଛୋଟ ଠୋପା ନୀଳୁର ଚଷମାରେ ପଡ଼େ। ସେ ଚମକେ, ପୁଣି ସ୍ଥିର ହୁଏ।
The bird settles in the shallow water and shakes its wings once. A small drop reaches Nilu’s glasses. He blinks, then settles again.
ଧ୍ୱନି / Sound: ଛୋଟ ଛପ୍ ଓ ଚଇତିର ଦବା ହସ। / A little splash and Chaiti’s stifled laugh.
ନୀଳୁ: ମୋ ପାଖକୁ ବି ଆସିଲା।
Nilu: Some came my way too.

ଦୃଶ୍ୟ 4 · 38–52 ସେକେଣ୍ଡ / Scene 4 · 38–52 seconds
ପକ୍ଷୀ ଧାରକୁ ଆସି ପର ଝାଡ଼େ। ନୀଳୁ ଚଷମା ପୋଛି ଉପରକୁ ଚାହିଁଲେ ପକ୍ଷୀ କାନ୍ଥରେ ନିଜ ପର ସଜାଉଛି।
The bird hops onto the rim and shakes. Nilu wipes his glasses; when he looks up, the bird is on the wall preening.
ଧ୍ୱନି / Sound: ପରର ଝଟ୍‌ଝଟ୍; ଶେଷରେ ପତ୍ର ଶବ୍ଦ। / A feather shake, then leaves.
