SOURCE NOTES AND CREATIVE BOUNDARIES 17 October 2026 S1 — ABOLAKARA Kailash Pattanaik, "Abolkara: The Odyssey of a Disobedient Hero", Lokaratna, Volumes V & VI (2013), PDF pages 143–145. https://api.repository.cam.ac.uk/server/api/core/bitstreams/8920e957-babc-45d4-9981-6b8bbe821a5b/content#page=143 Supports: the inquisitive, disobedient companion; questions prompting a travelling master's stories; later literary transformations, including stories by Manoj Das. Do not reduce the character to a foolish servant. This source informed the discussion before the present concept briefs. S2 — COLLECTED ABOLAKARA STORIES Black Eagle Books, Abolakara Kahani, Abhay Charan Mohanty. https://www.blackeaglebooks.org/product/abolakara-kahani/ Supports: publisher's account of the Santa/master frame and Mohanty's collection in three parts. A named compilation is distinct from oral tradition. The user's Internet Archive/Odia Bibhaba availability claim was not verified against a specific accessible item; do not fabricate a download link. S3 — ODIA NAME AND TRANSLATION CONTEXT Prateek Pattanaik, Abolakara translation project. https://pattaprateek.com/abolakara/ Supports: Odia spelling ଅବୋଲକରା and an oral, humorous storytelling tradition. No story wording or illustrations from this project are being reused. S4 — DHARMAPADA LEGEND Odisha Review, December 2015, "The Legend" in the Konark discussion, pp. 9–12. https://magazines.odisha.gov.in/orissareview/2015/Dec/engpdf/9-12.pdf Supports: the familiar account of the twelve-year-old son of Bisu Maharana, the temple's final stone and the legend's tragic ending. The account is explicitly presented as legend, not verified biography. S5 — DHARAMA / DHARMAPADA VARIANTS Odisha Review, September–October 2021, section D3, "Legend about Dharmapada". https://magazines.odisha.gov.in/orissareview/2021/Sept-Oct/engpdf/entire_book.pdf Supports: the names Dharama and Dharmapada and discussion of the tale as a legend. It is not evidence for a precise historical appearance or costume. OUR PROPOSALS All new names, family relationships, ages, occupations, appearances, series titles and story outlines in this folder are creative working choices. No existing author's story is being copied, translated or relabelled. Broad themes are recorded as inspiration rather than claimed as newly invented. No claim is made that common names or story motifs are exclusive to this work. LANGUAGE STATUS Odia names and working titles are first drafts. English descriptions are development prose, not final translations of a completed Odia story. Future scripts will be written in Odia with a companion English version and a separate review record. Independent fluent-reader review has not occurred. ART RECORD When drawings are created, preserve the exact prompt, unaltered output, selected filename and actual visual-review notes. Public copy need not carry the generation label the user asked to remove; do not substitute claims of human authorship. Final print remains a later production stage.
