Room for One More New local story exploration using the developing cast. Original character source: Snigdha Nayak’s Gudul–Gudli serial. This new script is not attributed to the original author. All weather, location treatment, actions, dialogue and recurring personality choices in this pilot are newly proposed. It sits outside the serial chronology and does not depict a return, rescue or resolved disappearance. 1. A dry corner Wide establishing view. All four are already together under the veranda. Rain slants toward its outer edge. Gudli points to the still-dry part of the plain mat by the wall; Gudul, the parrot and Elin are all visible. No arrival or reunion. Meaning: It’s dry here! 2. A very careful plan Gudul crouches and indicates four imagined places in a row with his fingertips. Show the proposed row through his hand and eyeline, not written numbers or chalk. Gudli waits; Elin watches. The bird stands near the mat’s dry outer edge, with its long tail nearly reaching the wet line. Gudul: ଚାରିଜଣ। Meaning: Four of us. Four places. 3. Making room—almost Gudli has moved her hips back toward the wall, convinced she has made room, but her outstretched legs cross Elin’s approach. Elin places one forepaw toward the remaining gap and pauses. Gudul watches, his neat row now visibly impractical. Meaning: A little shuffle will do it! 4. Elin waits; Gudli notices Closer view of Elin beside Gudli’s ankle. Elin looks from her foot to the gap. Gudli follows that look and notices the path she has blocked, smiling at her own mistake. Hold this recognition moment with her legs still in the way; the leg-folding completes between panels 4 and 5. Meaning: Oh, I’m the one blocking the way! 5. Four friends fit Wider again. The children now sit in a relaxed open arc. Elin has chosen the gap between them. Gudul offers his low forearm and the parrot has just settled securely on it, with both feet supported. Its tail still projects toward the rainward edge. One harmless stray drop reaches the tail tip; the bird notices with exaggerated seriousness. Meaning: You sit here. 6. And one tail Gudul has drawn the supported forearm a little farther inside the dry patch; the parrot’s tail is now dry too. He answers its brief chirp with affectionate amusement. Gudli smiles at the tail adjustment; Elin curls comfortably between them. End on shared comfort and the bird’s dignified look. Meaning: Yes, yes—room for your tail too!
