ସ୍ଥାନ ଓ ସମୟ / Place and time
ଗଛ ଥିବା ଏକ ସାଧାରଣ ଓଡ଼ିଆ ଅଗଣାର କଳ୍ପିତ ଗପ ସମୟ। କୌଣସି ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦିଷ୍ଟ ଜିଲ୍ଲା ବା ଐତିହାସିକ ଘଟଣା ନୁହେଁ। ପିଲାଙ୍କ କଣ୍ଠ ଡାଳ ତଳୁ ଆସେ; ସେମାନେ ଚିତ୍ର ବାହାରେ। କୋଇଲି ଏହି ସଂଗ୍ରହର ସାହିତ୍ୟିକ କଥକ। ନୀଳୁ–ଚଇତିର ସାଧାରଣ ପକ୍ଷୀ ସାଥୀଠାରୁ ତା’ର ଭୂମିକା ଅଲଗା।
An imagined story time in an ordinary Odia courtyard with a tree, without a named district or historical event. Children speak from below the branch and remain outside the frame. Koeli is the collection’s literary narrator, with a different role from Nilu–Chaiti’s ordinary bird companion.

ଭାବର ପରିବର୍ତ୍ତନ / The performance turn
ଉତ୍ସାହରେ ଶେଷ କହିଦେବା → ପ୍ରଶ୍ନ ଶୁଣି ଭୁଲ୍ ଧରିବା → ନିଜ ସହ ହସିବା → ପିଲାକୁ ପ୍ରଶ୍ନ କରିବାର ସମୟ ଦେବା।
Giving away the ending in excitement → noticing the mistake → laughing at itself → making time for the child’s questions.

ରୂପ ଓ ଚଳନ / Appearance and movement
ପୂର୍ବ ପୁରୁଷ ଏସୀୟ କୋଇଲି ଅଧ୍ୟୟନ ସହ ମେଳ: ନୀଳଚେ କଳା ପର, ଲମ୍ବା ଲାଞ୍ଜ, ହାଲୁକା ଧୂସର–ସବୁଜ ଥଣ୍ଟ ଓ ସଂଯତ ଲାଲଚେ ଆଖି। ପୋଷାକ, ଅଳଙ୍କାର ବା ମଣିଷର ହାତ ନାହିଁ। ମୁଣ୍ଡ ଢଳାଇବା, ଥଣ୍ଟ ଖୋଲିବା, ଦେହ ଆଗକୁ ଝୁଙ୍କାଇବା ଓ ଦୁଇ ପାଦରେ ଡାଳ ଧରିବାରେ ଅଭିନୟ। ପକ୍ଷୀଟି ଓଡ଼ିଶାରେ ସୀମିତ ନୁହେଁ; ଏହି ଚରିତ୍ରର ସମ୍ପର୍କ ଓଡ଼ିଆ କଥା ଓ ସାହିତ୍ୟ ସ୍ମୃତିରୁ ଆସେ।
Keep the earlier male Asian koel study: blue-black feathers, long tail, pale grey-green bill and restrained reddish eyes. No clothes, ornaments or human hands. Act through head tilts, an opening bill, a forward lean and two feet gripping the branch. The species is not exclusive to Odisha; this character’s connection comes through Odia speech and literary memory.

ପ୍ରତି ଦୃଶ୍ୟରେ ମେଳ / Continuity between shots
ଗୋଟିଏ ପକ୍ଷୀ, ଗୋଟିଏ ଡାଳ, ଏକ ସକାଳର ଆଲୋକ। ବ୍ୟାଗ୍‌ଟା କେବଳ କୁହାଯାଉଥିବା ଗପରେ; ଡାଳରେ ଟଙ୍ଗା ଦେଖାଯିବନି। ପିଲାଙ୍କ ଶବ୍ଦ ଚିତ୍ର ବାହାରୁ। ଗପର ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ବ୍ୟାଗ୍ ଘଟଣା ଏହି ପର୍ବରେ ଖୋଲାଯାଏନି।
One bird, one branch and consistent morning light. The bag exists only in the narrated story; do not hang one on the branch. Children remain offscreen. This episode does not resolve the entire bag story.

Morning. Koeli leans forward on a branch. The listening children are below, outside the frame.
ଧ୍ୱନି / Sound: ପତ୍ରର ହାଲୁକା ଶବ୍ଦ; ଏକ ଛୋଟ କୁହୁ ଡାକ। / Soft leaves; one short kuhu call.
କୋଇଲି: ଶେଷରେ ବ୍ୟାଗ୍‌ଟା ଗଛରେ ମିଳିଲା!
Koeli: And in the end, they found the bag in the tree!

କୋଇଲି ଉତ୍ତର ପାଇଁ ଅପେକ୍ଷା କରେ। ତଳୁ ଜଣେ ପିଲା ପଚାରେ।
Koeli waits for a reaction. A child calls up from below.

Child: Whose bag?
କୋଇଲି: ଓହୋ! ଆରମ୍ଭଟା ତ କହିନି!
Koeli: Oh! I forgot the beginning!

କୋଇଲି ମୁଣ୍ଡ ଢଳାଇ ଭାବେ। ପିଲାଟି ହସେ; କୋଇଲି ତା’ ସହ ହସେ।
Koeli tilts its head to think. The child laughs, and Koeli joins in.
ଧ୍ୱନି / Sound: ଛୋଟ ହସ; ପତ୍ର ଶବ୍ଦ ଚାଲିଥାଏ। / A small laugh over the continuing leaves.
ପିଲା: ଏଥର ଆଗରୁ କହ।

କୋଇଲି: ହଁ। ପ୍ରଥମେ ଗୋଟେ ବ୍ୟାଗ୍ ଥିଲା…

କୋଇଲି ପୁଣି ଅଟକେ। ତଳକୁ ଚାହେଁ। ଶୁଣିବାରେ ଗପ ଶେଷ।
Koeli stops again and looks down. End on the act of listening.
ଧ୍ୱନି / Sound: ହାଲୁକା ହସ, ତା’ପରେ ନିରବତା। / A gentle laugh, then quiet.
ପିଲା: ଆଉ ବ୍ୟାଗ୍‌ଟା କାହାର ଥିଲା?
Child: And whose bag was it?
କୋଇଲି: ଆଚ୍ଛା, ତୁମେ ପଚାର। ମୁଁ କହୁଛି।
