ସ୍ଥାନ ଓ ସମୟ / Place and time
ଗଛ ଥିବା ଏକ ସାଧାରଣ ଓଡ଼ିଆ ଅଗଣାର କଳ୍ପିତ ଗପ ସମୟ। କୌଣସି ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦିଷ୍ଟ ଜିଲ୍ଲା ବା ଐତିହାସିକ ଘଟଣା ନୁହେଁ। ପିଲାଙ୍କ କଣ୍ଠ ଡାଳ ତଳୁ ଆସେ; ସେମାନେ ଚିତ୍ର ବାହାରେ। କୋଇଲି ଏହି ସଂଗ୍ରହର ସାହିତ୍ୟିକ କଥକ। ନୀଳୁ–ଚଇତିର ସାଧାରଣ ପକ୍ଷୀ ସାଥୀଠାରୁ ତା’ର ଭୂମିକା ଅଲଗା।
An imagined story time in an ordinary Odia courtyard with a tree, without a named district or historical event. Children speak from below the branch and remain outside the frame. Koeli is the collection’s literary narrator, with a different role from Nilu–Chaiti’s ordinary bird companion.

ଭାବର ପରିବର୍ତ୍ତନ / The performance turn
ଗପ ଆଗରୁ ଅନୁମାନ → ପିଲାକୁ ଅଟକାଇଦେବା ବୁଝିବା → ଥଣ୍ଟ ବନ୍ଦ କରି ଅପେକ୍ଷା → ଅନ୍ୟର ଗପରେ ଆନନ୍ଦ।
Guessing before the story → realising it has interrupted → closing its bill and waiting → enjoying someone else’s story.

ରୂପ ଓ ଚଳନ / Appearance and movement
ପୂର୍ବ ପୁରୁଷ ଏସୀୟ କୋଇଲି ଅଧ୍ୟୟନ ସହ ମେଳ: ନୀଳଚେ କଳା ପର, ଲମ୍ବା ଲାଞ୍ଜ, ହାଲୁକା ଧୂସର–ସବୁଜ ଥଣ୍ଟ ଓ ସଂଯତ ଲାଲଚେ ଆଖି। ପୋଷାକ, ଅଳଙ୍କାର ବା ମଣିଷର ହାତ ନାହିଁ। ମୁଣ୍ଡ ଢଳାଇବା, ଥଣ୍ଟ ଖୋଲିବା, ଦେହ ଆଗକୁ ଝୁଙ୍କାଇବା ଓ ଦୁଇ ପାଦରେ ଡାଳ ଧରିବାରେ ଅଭିନୟ। ପକ୍ଷୀଟି ଓଡ଼ିଶାରେ ସୀମିତ ନୁହେଁ; ଏହି ଚରିତ୍ରର ସମ୍ପର୍କ ଓଡ଼ିଆ କଥା ଓ ସାହିତ୍ୟ ସ୍ମୃତିରୁ ଆସେ।
Keep the earlier male Asian koel study: blue-black feathers, long tail, pale grey-green bill and restrained reddish eyes. No clothes, ornaments or human hands. Act through head tilts, an opening bill, a forward lean and two feet gripping the branch. The species is not exclusive to Odisha; this character’s connection comes through Odia speech and literary memory.

ପ୍ରତି ଦୃଶ୍ୟରେ ମେଳ / Continuity between shots
ବାଘ ଓ ଚୋର କୋଇଲିର ଭୁଲ୍ ଅନୁମାନ; ସେମାନେ ଚିତ୍ରରେ ଆସନ୍ତିନି। ବିଲେଇ ବି କେବଳ ପିଲାର କଥାରେ। ଏକ ପକ୍ଷୀ ଓ ଏକ ଡାଳ; ପଛକୁ ସରିବାବେଳେ ପାଦର ଧରା ଓ ଭାର ମେଳିବ। ଶେଷ ଦୃଶ୍ୟରେ କୋଇଲି ପୁଣି କଥା କହିବନି।
Tiger and thief are Koeli’s mistaken guesses and are not pictured. The cat also remains in the child’s words. One bird and one branch; keep grip and balance coherent as the bird settles back. Koeli does not interrupt again in the final scene.

Koeli is on its branch. A child outside the frame wants to tell a story.

କୋଇଲି ଆଗକୁ ଢଳି ନିଜେ ଅନୁମାନ କରେ। ପିଲା ଆରମ୍ଭ କରିବାକୁ ଯାଇ ଅଟକେ।
Koeli leans forward with another guess. The child starts, then stops.

ପିଲାର କଥା ଶୁଣି କୋଇଲି ନିଜ ଥଣ୍ଟ ବନ୍ଦ କରେ। ଡାଳରେ ଟିକେ ପଛକୁ ସରେ।
Koeli hears the child, closes its beak and settles a little further back on the branch.
ଧ୍ୱନି / Sound: ପତ୍ରର ମୃଦୁ ଶବ୍ଦ। / A soft rustle of leaves.
ପିଲା: ଆଗେ ଶୁଣିବ?
Child: Will you listen first?
କୋଇଲି: ହଁ। ଏଥର ତୁମ ଗପ।
Koeli: Yes. Your story this time.

ଦୃଶ୍ୟ 4 · 36–48 ସେକେଣ୍ଡ / Scene 4 · 36–48 seconds
କୋଇଲି ମନଦେଇ ଶୁଣେ। ପିଲା କହିଲାବେଳେ ତା’ ଆଖିରେ ହସ। କଥା ନକହି ଏହି ଭାବରେ ଶେଷ।
Koeli listens. Its eyes brighten as the child speaks. End on this reaction without another interruption.
ଧ୍ୱନି / Sound: ପିଲାର କଥା ଓ ଛୋଟ ହସ। / The child’s voice and a small laugh.
ପିଲା: ଆମ ବିଲେଇ ନିଜ ଛାଇକୁ ଧରିବାକୁ ଯାଇଥିଲା!
Child: Our cat tried to catch its own shadow!
