ସ୍ଥାନ ଓ ସମୟ / Place and time
ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନର କୋରାପୁଟ ପାହାଡ଼ ଅଞ୍ଚଳର ଏକ କାଳ୍ପନିକ ଗାଁ। ରେବା ମାଉସୀଙ୍କ ଅଗଣା ଓ ବାରଣ୍ଡା। କୁସୁମ ଓ ମନ୍ଦାର ଦୁଇ ଭଉଣୀଙ୍କ ପିଲା; ରେବା ଦୁହିଁଙ୍କ ମାଉସୀ।
A fictional village in the present-day Koraput hills. Reba Mausi’s courtyard and veranda. Kusum and Mandar are cousins; Reba is aunt to both.

ଭାବର ପରିବର୍ତ୍ତନ / The performance turn
ଗପ ଆରମ୍ଭ → ସତର୍କ ଦେଖିବା → ନିଜ ଗପର ଶେଷ ବଦଳାଇ ହସାଇବା।
Starting a tale → looking carefully → changing his ending to make everyone laugh.

ପୋଷାକ ଓ ଚଳନ / Clothing and movement
କୁସୁମର ଦୁଇ ବେଣୀ, କ୍ରିମ୍ ବ୍ଲାଉଜ୍‌ର ହାତରେ ମାଟିଆ ଲାଲ ଧାର ଓ ମାଟିଆ ଲାଲ ସ୍କର୍ଟର ତଳେ ଦୁଇ ହାଲୁକା ଧାର। ମନ୍ଦାରର ସବୁଜ ସାର୍ଟ, ମାଟିଆ ହଳଦିଆ ହାଫ୍ ପ୍ୟାଣ୍ଟ ଓ ନିଜ ବାମ କାନ୍ଧରେ କ୍ରିମ୍ କପଡ଼ା। ସାଧାରଣ ଚପଲ। ଏଗୁଡ଼ିକ ଏହି କାଳ୍ପନିକ ପିଲାଙ୍କ ପୋଷାକ, କୌଣସି ସମୁଦାୟର ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦିଷ୍ଟ ସଜ ନୁହେଁ।
Kusum keeps two plaits, cream blouse with rust sleeve bands, and rust skirt with two pale hem bands. Mandar wears a green shirt, ochre shorts and a cream cloth on his anatomical left shoulder. Ordinary sandals. These are the fictional children’s clothes, not a prescribed community costume.

ପ୍ରତି ଦୃଶ୍ୟରେ ମେଳ / Continuity between shots
ପତ୍ର ବ୍ୟାଗ୍ ପଛରେ ଆରମ୍ଭରୁ ରହିବ; ଶବ୍ଦ ତାହାରୁ। ଭିତରେ ପଶୁ ନାହିଁ। କୌଣସି ଅଜଣା ଜୀବକୁ ଛୁଇଁବା ଦୃଶ୍ୟ ନାହିଁ।
The leaf is behind the bag from the start and causes the sound. There is no animal inside and no handling of an unknown creature.

ଦୃଶ୍ୟ 1 · 0–12 ସେକେଣ୍ଡ / Scene 1 · 0–12 seconds
ବାରଣ୍ଡାରେ ଝୁଲିଥିବା ଖାଲି ବ୍ୟାଗ୍ ପବନରେ ହଲେ। ତା’ ପଛରେ ଏକ ଶୁଖିଲା ପତ୍ର କାନ୍ଥରେ ଘଷେ। ମନ୍ଦାର ଅଟକେ।
An empty hanging bag sways. A dry leaf caught behind it brushes the wall. Mandar stops.
ଧ୍ୱନି / Sound: ଖସ୍‌ଖସ୍, ବିରାମ, ପୁଣି ଖସ୍‌ଖସ୍। / Rustle, pause, rustle.
ମନ୍ଦାର: କୁସୁମ, ବ୍ୟାଗ୍‌ଟା କଥା କହୁଛି!
Mandar: Kusum, the bag is talking!

ଦୃଶ୍ୟ 2 · 12–24 ସେକେଣ୍ଡ / Scene 2 · 12–24 seconds
ମନ୍ଦାର କାନ ପାତି ଅତି ଗମ୍ଭୀର ଭାବ କରେ। କୁସୁମ ହସ ଲୁଚାଇ ବ୍ୟାଗ୍ ପଛକୁ ଦେଖାଏ।
Mandar listens with exaggerated seriousness. Kusum hides a smile and points behind the bag.
ଧ୍ୱନି / Sound: ପବନ ଓ କପଡ଼ା। / Wind and cloth.
କୁସୁମ: ପଛ ପଟଟା ଦେଖିଲୁ?
Kusum: Did you look behind it?

ଦୃଶ୍ୟ 3 · 24–38 ସେକେଣ୍ଡ / Scene 3 · 24–38 seconds
ମନ୍ଦାର ଦୂରରୁ ପାଖକୁ ସରି ଦେଖେ। ପତ୍ର ଦେଖାଯାଏ। ପବନ ଥାମିଲେ ଶବ୍ଦ ବି ଥାମେ।
Mandar moves sideways to look from a little distance. The leaf comes into view. Wind and rustle stop together.
ଧ୍ୱନି / Sound: ଶବ୍ଦ ହଠାତ୍ ଥାମେ। / The rustle stops.
ମନ୍ଦାର: ଓଃ, ପତ୍ରଟା!
Mandar: Oh, it’s the leaf!

ଦୃଶ୍ୟ 4 · 38–52 ସେକେଣ୍ଡ / Scene 4 · 38–52 seconds
ମନ୍ଦାର ଖାଲି ହାତରେ ପତ୍ର ହଲିବା ପରି ଅଭିନୟ କରେ। କୁସୁମ ହସେ। ପଛରେ ପତ୍ର ପୁଣି ହଲେ।
Mandar acts out the leaf with his empty hands. Kusum laughs. Behind him, the leaf begins moving again.
ଧ୍ୱନି / Sound: ଖସ୍‌ଖସ୍ ଓ ହସ। / Rustling and laughter.
ମନ୍ଦାର: ମୋ ଗପରେ ବାଘ ଥିଲା। ଏବେ ପତ୍ର ହେଲା।
Mandar: My story had a tiger. Now it has a leaf.
