ସ୍ଥାନ ଓ ସମୟ / Place and time
ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନର ଓଡ଼ିଶା। ଏକ ଛାଇଆ ଅଗଣା ଓ ବାରଣ୍ଡା; ଗାଁ ବା ଜିଲ୍ଲା ଧାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ହୋଇନାହିଁ।
Present-day Odisha. A shaded courtyard and veranda; no village or district has been fixed.

ଭାବର ପରିବର୍ତ୍ତନ / The performance turn
ଆଶ୍ଚର୍ଯ୍ୟ → କହିବାକୁ ଦ୍ୱିଧା → ନିଜ କାମ ସ୍ୱୀକାର କରି ସାଙ୍ଗ ସହ ରହିବା।
Surprise → hesitation → owning what he did and staying alongside his friend.

ପୋଷାକ ଓ ଚଳନ / Clothing and movement
ନୀଳୁର ଛୋଟ ଲାଲ ସୂତା ସାର୍ଟ, ତା’ ନିଜ ବାମ ପଟେ ନୀଳ ପକେଟ୍ ଓ କ୍ରିମ୍ ରଙ୍ଗର ଛୋଟ ପ୍ୟାଣ୍ଟ। ଚଇତିର ନୀଳ ଢିଲା ଟ୍ୟୁନିକ୍‌ର ବେକରେ ସରୁ ସୁନେଲି ଧାର ଓ ମାଟିଆ ହଳଦିଆ ପ୍ୟାଣ୍ଟ। ବସିବା ଓ ଉଠିବା ସହ ଅଣ୍ଟା ଓ ଆଣ୍ଠୁର କୁଞ୍ଚ ବଦଳିବ।
Nilu wears a short red cotton shirt with a blue pocket on his anatomical left and cream cropped trousers. Chaiti wears a loose blue tunic with a narrow gold neckline and muted ochre trousers. Folds at the waist and knees respond to sitting and rising.

ପ୍ରତି ଦୃଶ୍ୟରେ ମେଳ / Continuity between shots
କାଗଜର ବାମ ତଳ କୋଣରେ ସେଇ ଗୋଟିଏ ଓଦା ଦାଗ ରହିବ। ପକ୍ଷୀ କାଗଜ ଛୁଏଁନି। ନୀଳୁର ଆଙ୍ଗୁଠି ଆଗରୁ ଓଦା ବୋଲି ସ୍ପଷ୍ଟ ଦେଖାଇବା।
The same damp mark stays at the lower left of the paper. The bird never touches it. Establish Nilu’s wet fingertips before the mark appears.

ଦୃଶ୍ୟ 1 · 0–12 ସେକେଣ୍ଡ / Scene 1 · 0–12 seconds
ଚଇତି କାଗଜରେ ଅଗଣାର ଚିତ୍ର କରୁଛି। ହାତ ଧୋଇ ଆସିଥିବା ନୀଳୁ ଗୋଟିଏ କୋଣ ଧରେ। ଓଦା ଦାଗ ହୁଏ।
Chaiti is drawing the courtyard. Nilu, just back from washing his hands, holds a corner. A damp mark appears.
ଧ୍ୱନି / Sound: ପେନ୍‌ସିଲ୍‌ର ଖସ୍‌ଖସ୍। / Pencil scratching.
ଚଇତି: ଏ ପଟଟା ଧରିଥା।
Chaiti: Hold this side.

ଦୃଶ୍ୟ 2 · 12–24 ସେକେଣ୍ଡ / Scene 2 · 12–24 seconds
ନୀଳୁ ହାତ ହଟାଏ। ଚଇତି ଦାଗ ଦେଖି ପାଖ କାନ୍ଥର ପକ୍ଷୀକୁ ଚାହେଁ। ପକ୍ଷୀ ନିଜ ପର ସଜାଉଛି।
Nilu takes his hand away. Chaiti sees the mark and glances at the bird on the wall. The bird is preening.
ଧ୍ୱନି / Sound: ଏକ ଛୋଟ ଚିଁ ଓ ବିରାମ। / A little chirp and a pause.
ଚଇତି: ଏଇଟା କେମିତି ହେଲା?
Chaiti: How did that happen?

ଦୃଶ୍ୟ 3 · 24–38 ସେକେଣ୍ଡ / Scene 3 · 24–38 seconds
ନୀଳୁ ନିଜ ହାତ ଆଗକୁ ଦେଖାଏ। ଚଇତି ପକ୍ଷୀଠାରୁ ମୁହଁ ଫେରାଏ। ନୀଳୁ ଦାଗ ପୋଛିବାକୁ ଯାଇ ଅଟକେ।
Nilu holds out his hand. Chaiti looks back from the bird. He reaches to rub the mark, then stops.
ଧ୍ୱନି / Sound: ମୃଦୁ କଥା; କୌଣସି ନାଟକୀୟ ସଙ୍ଗୀତ ନାହିଁ। / Quiet speech; no dramatic music.
ନୀଳୁ: ମୋ ହାତ ଓଦା ଥିଲା। ମୁଁ କରିଛି।
Nilu: My hand was wet. I did it.
ଚଇତି: ଘଷନି। ଟିକେ ଶୁଖୁ।
Chaiti: Don’t rub it. Let it dry.

ଦୃଶ୍ୟ 4 · 38–52 ସେକେଣ୍ଡ / Scene 4 · 38–52 seconds
କାଗଜ ତଳେ ରହେ। ଦୁହେଁ ପାଖରେ ବସି ପକ୍ଷୀକୁ ଦେଖନ୍ତି। ପକ୍ଷୀ ଗୋଟିଏ ଗୋଡ଼ ଉଠାଇ ପର ଭିତରେ ରଖେ।
They leave the paper flat and sit nearby watching the bird. It tucks one foot into its feathers.
ଧ୍ୱନି / Sound: ହାଲୁକା ପତ୍ର ଶବ୍ଦ ଓ ଦୁହିଁଙ୍କ ହସ। / Leaves and a shared chuckle.
ନୀଳୁ: ତା’ର ତ ହାତ ବି ନାହିଁ!
Nilu: It doesn’t even have hands!
