ସ୍ଥାନ ଓ ସମୟ / Place and time
ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନର ଓଡ଼ିଶା। ଏକ ଛାଇଆ ଅଗଣା ଓ ବାରଣ୍ଡା; ଗାଁ ବା ଜିଲ୍ଲା ଧାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ହୋଇନାହିଁ।
Present-day Odisha. A shaded courtyard and veranda; no village or district has been fixed.

ଭାବର ପରିବର୍ତ୍ତନ / The performance turn
ମାଟି ଶୁଙ୍ଘିବା → ପାଦ ଫେରାଇବା → ଶୁଖିଲା ବାଟ ବାଛି ଯୋଗଦେବା।
Sniffing the ground → drawing a paw back → taking the dry route to rejoin the others.

ପୋଷାକ ଓ ଚଳନ / Clothing and movement
ନୀଳୁର ଛୋଟ ଲାଲ ସୂତା ସାର୍ଟ, ତା’ ନିଜ ବାମ ପଟେ ନୀଳ ପକେଟ୍ ଓ କ୍ରିମ୍ ରଙ୍ଗର ଛୋଟ ପ୍ୟାଣ୍ଟ। ଚଇତିର ନୀଳ ଢିଲା ଟ୍ୟୁନିକ୍‌ର ବେକରେ ସରୁ ସୁନେଲି ଧାର ଓ ମାଟିଆ ହଳଦିଆ ପ୍ୟାଣ୍ଟ। ବସିବା ଓ ଉଠିବା ସହ ଅଣ୍ଟା ଓ ଆଣ୍ଠୁର କୁଞ୍ଚ ବଦଳିବ।
Nilu wears a short red cotton shirt with a blue pocket on his anatomical left and cream cropped trousers. Chaiti wears a loose blue tunic with a narrow gold neckline and muted ochre trousers. Folds at the waist and knees respond to sitting and rising.

ପ୍ରତି ଦୃଶ୍ୟରେ ମେଳ / Continuity between shots
ବର୍ଷା ପରର ଛୋଟ ଭିଜା ସ୍ଥାନ; ଗଭୀର ପାଣି ବା ରାସ୍ତାର ବିପଦ ନାହିଁ। ନୀଳୁର ଗୋଟିଏ ଚପଲରେ କାଦୁଅ ଦାଗ ଆରମ୍ଭରୁ ରହିବ; ଛୁଆର ଧଳା ପାଦ ଶୁଖିଲା ରହିବ।
A small wet patch after rain, without deep water or road hazards. Establish mud on one of Nilu’s sandals early; the puppy’s white paws remain dry.

ଦୃଶ୍ୟ 1 · 0–12 ସେକେଣ୍ଡ / Scene 1 · 0–12 seconds
ପିଲାମାନେ ବାରଣ୍ଡାକୁ ଯାଇଛନ୍ତି। ଛୁଆ ଅଗଣାର ଛୋଟ ଭିଜା ସ୍ଥାନ ପାଖେ ଅଟକେ। ନୀଳୁର ଚପଲରେ କାଦୁଅ ଲାଗିଛି।
The children reach the veranda. The puppy stops by a small wet patch. One of Nilu’s sandals is muddy.
ଧ୍ୱନି / Sound: ବର୍ଷା ପରର ଟୋପା ଓ ପାଦ ଶବ୍ଦ। / Drips after rain and footsteps.
ଚଇତି: ଏଇ ବାଟେ ଆସିଲେ ଶୀଘ୍ର ହେବ।
Chaiti: This way is quicker.

ଦୃଶ୍ୟ 2 · 12–24 ସେକେଣ୍ଡ / Scene 2 · 12–24 seconds
ଛୁଆ ନାକ ତଳକୁ କରେ। ଆଗ ପାଦ ବଢ଼ାଇ ପୁଣି ଫେରାଇନିଏ। ମୁଣ୍ଡ ବୁଲାଇ ଶୁଖିଲା ଧାର ଦେଖେ।
The puppy lowers its nose, reaches a front paw forward and draws it back. It looks towards the dry edge.
ଧ୍ୱନି / Sound: ଶୁଁ ଶୁଁ ଓ ହାଲୁକା ପବନ। / Sniffing and a light breeze.

ଦୃଶ୍ୟ 3 · 24–38 ସେକେଣ୍ଡ / Scene 3 · 24–38 seconds
ଛୁଆ ଶୁଖିଲା ଧାର ଦେଇ ଘୂରିଆସେ। ମଝିରେ ପଡ଼ିଥିବା ପତ୍ର ଶୁଙ୍ଘିବାକୁ ଅଟକେ। ପିଲାମାନେ ଅପେକ୍ଷା କରନ୍ତି।
It walks around the dry edge, stopping to sniff a fallen leaf on the way. The children wait.
ଧ୍ୱନି / Sound: ଧୀର ପାଦ ଓ ପତ୍ର। / Slow paws and a leaf.
ନୀଳୁ: ତା’ର ତର ନାହିଁ।
Nilu: It’s in no hurry.

ଦୃଶ୍ୟ 4 · 38–52 ସେକେଣ୍ଡ / Scene 4 · 38–52 seconds
ଛୁଆ ଶୁଖିଲା ପାଦରେ ପାହାଚକୁ ଆସେ। ନୀଳୁ ତା’ ପାଦ ଦେଖେ, ତା’ପରେ ନିଜ କାଦୁଅ ଚପଲ। ଚଇତି ହସି ଚପଲ ଖୋଲିବା ଜାଗା ଦେଖାଏ।
The puppy reaches the step with dry paws. Nilu looks at them, then at his muddy sandal. Chaiti smiles and points to the place for removing sandals.
ଧ୍ୱନି / Sound: ଛୋଟ ହସ; ପାହାଚରେ ନରମ ପାଦ। / A small laugh and soft paws on the step.
ନୀଳୁ: ମୁଁ ହିଁ ତରତର ହେଲି।
