ସ୍ଥାନ ଓ ସମୟ / Place and time
ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନର ଓଡ଼ିଶା। ଏକ ଛାଇଆ ଅଗଣା ଓ ବାରଣ୍ଡା; ଗାଁ ବା ଜିଲ୍ଲା ଧାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ହୋଇନାହିଁ।
Present-day Odisha. A shaded courtyard and veranda; no village or district has been fixed.

ଭାବର ପରିବର୍ତ୍ତନ / The performance turn
ନୂଆ ଜିନିଷରେ ଆଗ୍ରହ → ନିଜ ଖେଳ → ପାଖରେ ସାଙ୍ଗକୁ ସ୍ୱୀକାର କରିବା।
Interest in a new object → its own game → accepting quiet company alongside.

ପୋଷାକ ଓ ଚଳନ / Clothing and movement
ନୀଳୁର ଛୋଟ ଲାଲ ସୂତା ସାର୍ଟ, ତା’ ନିଜ ବାମ ପଟେ ନୀଳ ପକେଟ୍ ଓ କ୍ରିମ୍ ରଙ୍ଗର ଛୋଟ ପ୍ୟାଣ୍ଟ। ଚଇତିର ନୀଳ ଢିଲା ଟ୍ୟୁନିକ୍‌ର ବେକରେ ସରୁ ସୁନେଲି ଧାର ଓ ମାଟିଆ ହଳଦିଆ ପ୍ୟାଣ୍ଟ। ବସିବା ଓ ଉଠିବା ସହ ଅଣ୍ଟା ଓ ଆଣ୍ଠୁର କୁଞ୍ଚ ବଦଳିବ।
Nilu wears a short red cotton shirt with a blue pocket on his anatomical left and cream cropped trousers. Chaiti wears a loose blue tunic with a narrow gold neckline and muted ochre trousers. Folds at the waist and knees respond to sitting and rising.

ପ୍ରତି ଦୃଶ୍ୟରେ ମେଳ / Continuity between shots
ମୁହଁରେ ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ପଶିନଥିବା ନରମ ବଡ଼ କପଡ଼ା ଗୋଲା। ଛୁଆର ଗଳାରେ ଅଳଙ୍କାର ବା ପୋଷାକ ନାହିଁ। ପିଲାମାନେ ଗୋଲା ଛଡ଼ାଇ ନେବେନି।
A soft cloth ball too large to fit wholly in the puppy’s mouth. No costume or decorative collar. The children do not grab it away.

ନୀଳୁ ନରମ ଗୋଲା ମାଟିରେ ଟିକେ ଗଡ଼ାଏ। ଛୁଆ ତା’ ପଛେ ଯାଇ ପାଦରେ ଅଟକାଏ। ନୀଳୁ ହାତ ପାତି ଅପେକ୍ଷା କରେ।
Nilu rolls a soft ball a short distance. The puppy follows and stops it with a paw. Nilu waits with his hand open.

ଦୃଶ୍ୟ 2 · 12–24 ସେକେଣ୍ଡ / Scene 2 · 12–24 seconds
ଛୁଆ ଗୋଲା ଶୁଙ୍ଘେ, ଆଗ ପାଦ ତଳେ ରଖି ନାକରେ ଠେଲେ। ଗୋଲା ଅଳ୍ପ ଗଡ଼େ। ଛୁଆ ପୁଣି ତା’ ପଛେ ଯାଏ।
The puppy sniffs, pins the ball under a front paw and nudges it. The ball rolls a little; the puppy follows again.
ଧ୍ୱନି / Sound: ନାକର ଶୁଁ ଓ ଗୋଲାର ଥପ୍। / Sniffing and soft ball thumps.

ଦୃଶ୍ୟ 3 · 24–36 ସେକେଣ୍ଡ / Scene 3 · 24–36 seconds
ନୀଳୁର ପାତିଥିବା ହାତ ଧୀରେ ତଳକୁ ଯାଏ। ଚଇତି ଛୁଆର ଖେଳ ଦେଖି ହସେ।
Nilu’s waiting hand slowly drops. Chaiti smiles at the puppy’s game.
ଧ୍ୱନି / Sound: ମୃଦୁ ହସ। / A quiet laugh.
ଚଇତି: ସେ ତ ନିଜେ ଖେଳୁଛି।
Chaiti: It’s playing its own game.

ଦୃଶ୍ୟ 4 · 36–52 ସେକେଣ୍ଡ / Scene 4 · 36–52 seconds
ନୀଳୁ ଧୀରେ ଛୁଆ ପାଖରେ ଦୂରତା ରଖି ବସେ। ଛୁଆର ନାକରେ ଠେଲା ଖାଇ ଗୋଲା ତା’ ପାଖକୁ ଆସେ। ସେ ହାଲୁକା ଫେରାଇଦିଏ। ଛୁଆ ପୁଣି ପାଦରେ ଧରେ।
Nilu sits nearby, leaving space. A nudge from the puppy sends the ball his way. He gently rolls it back; the puppy pins it again.
ଧ୍ୱନି / Sound: ଗୋଲାର ଦୁଇ ନରମ ଥପ୍। ଶେଷରେ କଥା ନାହିଁ। / Two soft ball thumps. End without dialogue.
