A flexible visit plan · choose your own pace

Bhubaneswar, objects and ideas.

Start with something small enough to hold your attention, then a question large enough to take home. A museum object, a message in stone and a meal offer three ways into Bhubaneswar.

Use Kala Bhoomi as one possible anchor and Dhauli as an optional second stop. Choose your order after checking opening arrangements, transport and your return deadline. No duration or transfer time is promised.

01 · Kala Bhoomi

Let one object change what you notice.

A roof tile, a woven equation, a painted panel: our museum story invites you to look for knowledge inside an object. Choose a detail to remember rather than trying to see everything. The collection examples come from the 2019 catalogue; check what is on display now.

Before you go
Confirm opening day, galleries, last entry and photography rules. Ask about seating, toilets and the approach from your drop-off point.

02 · Dhauli

Take a question up the hill.

From objects made to be used, turn to words meant to guide conduct. Give the rock inscriptions and the modern Peace Pagoda separate attention. What would a promise of care mean to the people hearing it? Keep that question with you as you look.

Before you go
Agree which sites you will visit and how you will reach each. Check steps, shade, seating and return pickup; do not assume the inscriptions and stupa share one entrance.

03 · A Bhubaneswar food pause

Let the conversation reach the table.

Make room for Dalma and a conversation about the meal in front of you. Ask what vegetables are in today’s preparation and what the cook enjoys serving with it. Follow the food story to meet different preparations and take a question to the table.

Before you go
Choose a meal stop separately. Confirm service, ingredients, dietary needs, water and toilets; no museum café or particular restaurant is included.

Turn the thread into your journey.

A shorter visit

Choose Kala Bhoomi and a meal, or Dhauli and a meal. Remove the other stop in My journey. A single place with time to look can be a complete outing.

Plan the space between

Give a driver or host the exact stops and ask for estimates at your intended time. Add pickup, a rest and a return buffer. Check the forecast and move the outdoor part if conditions do not suit you.

Returning to an event

Work backwards from your required return time. Confirm museum arrangements first, then decide whether Dhauli fits. Your conference organiser has not approved or booked this plan.

Save these 3 ideas together, then choose dates, add notes and remove anything that does not fit. Every idea begins unscheduled. New journeys carry the chapters connected to their selected ideas into the downloadable tour book; choose the illustrated book to include photographs. Your existing journeys stay as they are.
