A flexible visit plan · choose your own pace
Cuttack, river and silver.
Follow the work behind a boat, then the spaces inside a silver thread. Jobra and Tarakasi make a day of changing scale, with a bowl of Dahibara Aloodum between the conversations.
Anchor the visit around a confirmed museum opening or maker appointment. Jobra, a workshop and your meal stop require separate arrangements. Reading order is not a checked driving or walking route.

Begin before the voyage.
A hull and a line of rails invite you to ask how things moved. Our Jobra story begins with the former workshop and its tools, then opens towards the waterways beyond it. Choose one machine whose purpose you want to understand.
Before you go Confirm the museum’s current hours, last entry and open galleries. Ask about access, seating and photography. The museum photographs are dated views, not a current inventory.

Change the scale of your curiosity.
After looking at a boat’s structure, follow the outline of a filigree piece. Where does the frame hold it together, and where does fine wire fill the space? A willing maker can turn a small detail into a memorable conversation.
Before you go Arrange a visit before arriving. Agree the number of visitors, time and demonstration fee, and ask before taking photographs. If a maker cannot host you, keep this as a reading stop.
Soft dahibara, potato and gravy: try a little of each before bringing them together. Ask the person serving how they build their bowl. Our food story makes a small tasting game of the pause, with room for your own Cuttack memory.
Before you go Confirm ingredients, price and dietary needs before ordering. Choose a freshly prepared serving that suits you and arrange somewhere to sit and rest.
Turn the thread into your journey.
A shorter visit
Keep Jobra and a meal if no maker appointment is available. Or give a confirmed Tarakasi visit the time it deserves and save the museum for another day.
Travel and rest
Agree exact addresses, drop-off and pickup points. Ask for current transfer estimates, including your return to Bhubaneswar if needed. Leave a separate pause for water, toilets and rest.
For a small group
Check the museum’s group arrangements and how many visitors a maker can comfortably host. Agree compensation and photography consent. No group capacity, price or booking has been confirmed.
Save these 3 ideas together, then choose dates, add notes and remove anything that does not fit. Every idea begins unscheduled. New journeys carry the chapters connected to their selected ideas into the downloadable tour book; choose the illustrated book to include photographs. Your existing journeys stay as they are.
